Safeguarding at Boost Academy
As part of our ongoing responsibility to ensure that individuals working with children are safe, in line with recommendations contained within paragraph 309 within KCSIE 2022 which states:
"Where a school places a pupil with an alternative provision provider, the school continues to be responsible for the safeguarding of that pupil and should be satisfied that the provider meets the needs of the pupil”.
We can confirm that the following checks are in place:

DBS: Clear & Checked
Barred List
Right to Work in the UK
Qualifications (as appropriate)
References (on commencement of employment)
Staff and Tutors participate in annual refresher training for:
KCSIE
Safeguarding & Child Protection
Prevent
Prior to a student being placed with us:
School staff, parent/carers and students are given opportunity to visit us to familiarise themselves with the facilities, staff and other students
A Service Level Agreement and Referral Form are completed for each student
Risk assessments are carried out for:
Buildings/facilities
Activities both on and off site and
Each student regarding their safety and welfare when engaging with others
We, at Boost Academy have open dialogue with schools: reporting weekly about student attendance/absence, welfare, engagement and attainment, ensuring that schools are kept informed and are involved in future planning.
If a student does not arrive for lessons we, at Boost Academy will:
a) Make contact with parent/carers
b) Make contact with school to report the reason for absence and
c) Record the absence
Schools are free to observe students as they feel it appropriate and are encouraged to meet formally with key staff once a term to review progress and plan for the future.
